CREATE A PET RESUME

Help Property Managers Get to Know the Pet Behind the Application

Finding rental housing with a dog can be challenging. Too often, property managers are asked to make decisions based on limited information — a pet’s breed, age, weight, and a few checkboxes on an application.

National Canine Advocacy Group created the free Pet Resume to help you introduce your dog as an individual. In just a few minutes, you can create a polished, one-page resume highlighting the qualities that matter most to a property manager.

It also includes your dog’s basic information, photo and, if you choose, references.

Before You Start

Most people can complete the Pet Resume in about 10–15 minutes.

Have these things handy:

  • A photo of your dog
  • Basic information such as age, weight and breed
  • Optional references. You can include up to three people who can speak to what your dog is like — for example, a veterinarian, previous landlord/property manager, trainer, dog walker or other pet professional. If you’d like to include references, have their name, company, email address and phone number ready.
